Roadside Butcher | Tizi n’ Tichka Pass, Morocco

Easter Sunday is just a week away and I’m thinking about what to cook for dinner.

In centuries past, it was considered a sign of good fortune to meet a lamb. Because of it’s religious symbolism,  it was believed that the devil, who could take the shape of all other animals, was not allowed to appear in the shape of a lamb.

We stumbled upon this roadside butcher shop somewhere between Marrakesh and Ouarzazate where we enjoyed the most flavorful mutton of our lives.
