Rising and falling with the tides, over four hundred families can now be found living in floating villages on Ha Long Bay. The bay islands, with their sheer, steep cliffs, provide very little level land to construct homes. As a result, these floating communities have developed over hundreds of years. In the calm, protected waters, stable timbers sit atop pontoons and provide foundations for schools, homes, banks, shops, and fish farms.
We shot this video on day two of our amazing Ha Long Bay adventure.
